For today’s 12BET Official team-building update, we’re revisiting the strongest lineups in Hunting Soul World and their development priorities to help players make better decisions about their resources. Looking back, the original version of this guide covered roughly ten different team compositions. By the first half of this year, that number had already fallen to five or six. Now, even after exhausting every possible combination, only three viable teams remain. Worse still, Qian Renxue’s lineup is gradually being pushed out of the competitive environment. Strictly speaking, the current version has only two genuinely competitive core teams left. It’s a rather disappointing situation for a game that once offered considerably more variety.
The first lineup is undoubtedly the current standout, Tang Wutong’s Radiance team. This composition dominates longer PvE encounters but lacks the same effectiveness in shorter battles. Consequently, the developers appear to have divided the competitive landscape into two primary teams based almost entirely on battle duration. Unfortunately, the game currently offers no third major PvE scenario that would encourage a different approach to team building.
To achieve consistent damage with Tang Wutong’s lineup, players need a heavily developed Huo Yuhao and Guangdi at Red 3 stars or higher. Tang Wutong herself should reach Red 4 stars as quickly as possible because this upgrade delivers a substantial improvement to her damage output. Fortunately, experienced players have probably already invested considerable resources in Huo Yuhao and Tang Yuehua, both of whom have been available for some time. Guangdi was previously distributed as a free reward and can still be obtained from the Battle Pass shop, making his star progression relatively manageable. The biggest challenge is therefore upgrading Tang Wutong efficiently.
Additional development priorities for the remaining teams can be found in the accompanying chart, which provides a more complete picture of their requirements. If there are other character upgrades, team combinations or development details you would like included in this 12BET Official lineup guide, feel free to leave your suggestions. Useful additions will be considered for future updates.
The second major composition is Wang Qiuer’s Holy Flame team, which specializes in shorter PvE encounters. Interestingly, the developers seem to be assigning two distinct combat specializations to each leading lineup. Tang Wutong combines Radiance and Flash mechanics, while Wang Qiuer focuses on Holy Flame and Burn effects. This arrangement raises the possibility that additional combat styles or specialized teams could emerge in future updates.
Wang Qiuer’s composition is actually quite familiar to veteran players. The most notable adjustment has been replacing Ah Yin with Ma Xiaotao, while the remaining characters have largely stayed the same. As a result, experienced players should already understand the team’s configuration and combat rotation. Although Ma Xiaotao’s overall value as a secondary damage dealer remains debatable, her actual performance is difficult to dismiss. She provides useful offensive contributions alongside both Wang Qiuer and Qian Renxue, even if questions remain about whether she justifies the investment required.
Finally, there is Qian Renxue’s Flash team. Leaving this composition out would make an already limited team-building guide feel even thinner, although that unfortunately reflects the current state of Hunting Soul World. At present, Ma Xiaotao allows this lineup to reach its highest potential damage output, particularly during longer encounters. However, many players who continue using Qian Renxue probably still rely on Bei Bei as their secondary damage dealer.
The reason is straightforward. Building a highly developed Ma Xiaotao specifically for Qian Renxue requires substantial recruitment and upgrade resources. Making that investment during the same month Tang Wutong was introduced is something only the most heavily invested players can realistically afford. Ordinary players are unlikely to have enough resources to strengthen both characters simultaneously, making it essential to prioritize carefully rather than spreading investments too thin.
Given these circumstances, the most practical 12BET Official recommendation is to evaluate each lineup according to your existing characters, upgrade progress and available resources before committing to further development. Players with an established Qian Renxue team can continue using it where appropriate, but investing heavily in an increasingly outdated composition may offer diminishing returns. Its gradual departure from the competitive lineup appears inevitable, and the performance gap between Qian Renxue and the two leading teams is already widening. For most players, concentrating resources on Tang Wutong or Wang Qiuer will be the more sustainable approach as the current meta continues to evolve.
